Nashville Public Library - you can check out laughs as well as books!


Movies @ Main, coming to you from the downtown Nashville Public Library, is back in full cinematic glory on Saturday afternoons! Check the events page for details on future screenings.

Movies @ Main in a COMA! Thursday, March 12th


Coma is a mystery thriller based on the novel by Robin Cook. It was scripted and directed by the late Michael Crichton. Coma's cinematographer Victor Kemper will introduce the film through a specially recorded interview. Mr. Kemper was also kind enough to talk to us for our Popmatic Podcast, which you can listen to here.

Little Red Riding Hood Redux


Disney was making cartoons based on the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm and other European authors already in the 1920s. But while Disney played fairy tales straight, other animation studios chose to twist, upend, and re-invent them. Guest lecturer Gregory Clark will talk about how Warner Bros and M-G-M animators imaginatively undid and remade the story of Little Red Riding Hood in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
